Tammy Westafer Development Director


Tammy Adams Westafer, originally from Jackson, SC, danced under the direction of Ron and Zanne Colton from 1986-2001. From 1990-1993 , Tammy attended Brenau University in Gainesville, GA, where she received a B.A. in Ballet Pedagogy. In 2003, she completed work on her Masters in Nonprofit Management from Regis University.

In addition to performing with the Augusta Ballet, NC Dance Theatre, and Gainesville Ballet. Tammy has performed in the Augusta Opera productions of Merry Widow and West Side Story. She has choreographed musicals for the Augusta Players, Georgia Regents University, and the Fort Gordon Dinner Theatre. She has also choreographed works for ballet companies throughout the Southeast including Augusta Ballet, Atlanta Ballet II, Gainesville Ballet, Ashland Youth Ballet in Kentucky, Southeast Alabama Ballet and Appalachian Ballet in Tennessee.

Other endeavors include serving as Executive Director of the Gainesville Ballet Company and creating a dance program at Enka High School in Asheville, NC. Tammy was a faculty member of the Colton Ballet School and of the Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School. Tammy was recently a volunteer Guardian ad Litem for CASA/Child Enrichment of Augusta. She also serves on the advisory board for Our Lady of Peace School. She is Development Director and a member of the Board of Directors for Colton Ballet Company.
