Don’t miss this exciting event with Dance Augusta and Karen Gordon and Garden City Jazz! Presented at the studio home of Dance Augusta, the Augusta Ballet School on Walton Way, the evening begins with a charming, playful work by choreographer Valerie Grieg using music from one of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. One of the featured pieces will be Caitlin McCormack’s premiere of a new work choreographed on Dance Augusta using the haunting piano/violin music of Angele Dubeau & La Pieta. Acclaimed choreographer Peter Powlus will collaborate with Karen and Garden City Jazz in a delightful premiere to the music of Thelonius Monk and Otis Blackwell/Eddie Cooley.
Interspersed throughout the evening, Karen and her jazz ensemble will play rousing sets designed to make you want to get up and move. The Augusta Ballet School studio will be turned into an amazing black box theatre and will highlight artwork by Rosalind Avrett. Wonderful food, wine and beer served in an outdoor tent will showcase the culinary talents of Sheehan’s Irish Pub.
Tickets may be purchased online or at the door. Seating is limited!
